I had an unsettling experience recently while trying to book a stay on Airbnb. The host was friendly at first, but after I confirmed the booking, they asked me to pay an additional fee via bank transfer, saying it was for a "security deposit." This wasn’t mentioned in the listing, and I’ve never had to pay outside of Airbnb before. I’m now really concerned that I might have almost fallen for a scam. Has anyone else encountered this type of situation?

Thank you for this information! It's great to know that Airbnb has such a wide variety of options and that their support service is so responsive when issues arise. It definitely adds to the confidence when booking, knowing any potential problems will be handled efficiently.
Good day. Every traveler has different preferences for housing, and Airbnb understands this very well. For travelers, they offer a huge catalog of housing directly from owners, among which everyone can easily find something suitable both for budget and for living conditions. Some users report that they have encountered airbnb fraud but when they reported it to the support service, all problems were resolved very quickly, and for this, many highly appreciate their services.
